Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the discovery of additional 85 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves in the Black Sea.
This deposit is considered large according to the internationally accepted classification. It is located about 170 km off the northern coast of Turkey.
«The total reserves of natural gas in the TUNA-1 well at the Sakarya gas field have reached 405 billion cubic meters,» the Turkish leader said after inspecting the field on the Fatih drilling ship.
According to the President’s words, the deposits are located at a depth of 4.7 thousand meters. Gas will begin to be supplied to people’s homes by 2023.
